I got the idea of starting a Farm School in 1981. I asked God to give me a sign to s
how that he wanted me to start it. He did.
In 1985, I mobilized political and religious leaders. They all supported the idea. In
1987, the school started at Lusolo-Mbuye, in a humble way with 15 students. The
objective was to give them skills to produce enough for themselves and a surplus
for sale. Hence the motto: “NO WORK NO FOOD (2 Thess: 3:10). At first the schoo
I was called: Twezimbe Agricultural training School (T.A.T.S). Later the name was c
hanged to Mbuye Farm School.
In 1996, when 7 German friends visited the school, we wrote a developmental proj
ect that was financed by the European Union. With the cooperation of many stake
holders, the school has developed into St. Matthias Mbuye Agricultural College an
d St. Matthias Mbuye Vocational Secondary School.
